Homemade Taco Seasoning Mix
A recipe for homemade taco seasoning mix. Use as needed. use 1 to 2 heaping tablespoons per one pound of ground meat.

- ¼ cup onion powder
- ⅛ cup garlic powder
- ½ cup cumin
- ⅓ cup sweet Spanish paprika not smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon salt optional
- 1 teaspoon black ground pepper
- ½ teaspoon sugar optional
Add all spices to a mixing bowl.
Whisk until evenly blended.
Use 1-2 tablespoons per one pound of meat, with ¼ cup of water and simmer for 5-10 minutes until thickened.
Sprinkle one to two tablespoons over cooked meat or other protein, and ¼ cup water. Stir, and simmer for 5-10 minutes until thickened.
Store remaining taco seasoning in an air tight container at room temperature for up to six months.
